Dayspring Mission was founded in 1999
as an evangelical ministry seeking to be obedient to the words of
Christ: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…and preach the Gospel
to every creature.” (Matthew 28:19-20 & Mark 16:15). It is our
conviction that this command is just as binding upon Christians today as
it was upon the disciples to whom it was first spoken.
The co-founders of this work, Patrick Evans and Jeff Shelnutt, have
combined mission field experience in Brazil, South America; Nigeria,
West Africa; and Belize, Central America.
We believe that God is the sender of the workers into the harvest (Acts
13:2; Galatians 1:1). Dayspring Mission is simply the name we as a
ministry operate under. The goal of the Mission is to make disciples of
the Lord Jesus who are born of the Spirit unto the building up of the
Body of Christ, the Church. We believe that any mission agency or church
organization is only to serve as a vehicle for this goal to be
accomplished. For this reason, Dayspring Mission has no administrative
board or governing body. As Jesus sent out the disciples to proclaim the
Kingdom of God in the cities of Israel when He was on earth, so does He
still do today from Heaven (Matthew 10:1-15; Luke 10:1-16). The
missionary’s ordination is from God and his standard is the Bible.
Dayspring Mission is a “by faith” ministry, meaning that we rely upon
God alone to meet our financial and material needs. We believe strongly
in the principle expressed by Hudson Taylor, founder of the China Inland
Mission: “God’s will done God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”
Dayspring Mission does not fundraise or use any methods of soliciting
support, and we have no yearly budget to fulfill. We simply operate on
donations (free-will offerings) from individuals or churches that give
as they feel led to. |
