While ministering in Belize our attention was brought to the need for wholesome reading materials. The result was the formation of the “Horse and Buggy Publications” branch of our mission in 2004. It is our aim to produce and distribute booklets with meaningful messages and attention-grabbing stories. This includes booklets that address doctrinal and practical faith issues. We have discovered that among the people of today, reading is not a common past time. For this reason we try to keep the booklets at a manageable number of pages with an easily understandable presentation of truth.

During Horse and Buggy Publications' first year we were able to produce a sizeable number of booklets, however, distribution was small. In 2005 we approached a shop keeper in Punta Gorda Town, Belize about displaying some of our booklets by his register, charging less than what it cost us to print them. In six months over 75 booklets sold. We’ve given many more away free of charge, but have discovered that requesting a small fee for the booklets tends to promote a sense of ownership and responsibility. We offer a variety of booklets ranging from “Missionary Stories” for children and adults, Bible correspondence courses, and a daily Bible reading guide, to a daily prayer guide, tracts, and the most recent addition, our own newspaper. There are currently over 90 booklets in print with us adding new ones weekly.

What could be more challenging and edifying than learning about the lives of those heroes of the faith—missionaries. They counted the cost and risked their reputations and lives, forsaking the comforts of their homelands. They inspire us to walk closer to the Lord and soar for higher heights in what we endeavor to accomplish for the kingdom of God.  These stories span the globe and offer a glimpse of the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

This original publication delves into fundamental principles of Christian doctrine and practice. It attempts to answer questions of faith, both simple and complex. How can we apply what the Bible teaches to our daily lives? The Scripture is God-breathed so that “the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

War, persecution, insults and threats. How should Believers respond?  This series explores this question by recounting the stories of numerous individuals from different time periods that all had one thing on common—they chose to take the words of Jesus seriously when dealing with those who sought to harm them for their faith.

There is a scarlet thread winding its way from Genesis to Revelation. To have a rudimental grasp of the Bible, we need the foundational understanding of the value that God places upon the blood. These study booklets walk a person through the Old Testament highlighting the promises of the coming Messiah and emphasizing the role of the sacrificial blood. The study then focuses on the life of the Lamb of God, climaxing with a clear presentation of the Gospel. We have a variety of correspondence courses for children, teens, and adults.
