Join Patrick Evans and Jeff Shelnutt as they serve the Lord on the Mission Field of Belize, Central America. In the fall of 2000 they left Birmingham, Alabama in a 1975 Ford school bus which they had converted into an RV. Driving along the coast, through the mountains and the Yucatan jungles of Mexico, they made their way to the land of Belize, where God had called them to serve for this season. After much prayer they set their home in the Mayan Indian village of San Jose.

Today their work consists of: a Children’s Church that is held every week with an attendance of 70 to 90 children; a teen and young adult Bible study; and village to village outreach via horseback or horse and buggy to hold in-home Bible studies and to show Bible movies. And, as of the fall of 2004, they started the first High School to ever be in an Indian village. The High School meets four days a week with a small body of young boys from San Jose village.

Patrick and Jeff invite you to join them in their work through your prayers.

As our departure for Belize neared in 2000, a sudden media frenzy hit us.  First Jeff and I were interviewed by the Birmingham Post Herald newspaper which was quickly followed up by a TV interview with Dave Baird of ABC 33/40.

Though we did not have any response as a result of the two interviews, I do pray that they stood to encourage others to go out into the world.

At the end of October 2000 we pulled out of Birmingham, Alabama headed for Belize.  Our only trial run with the bus had been a 350 mile drive, and then we launched out on faith for a more than 2,500 mile drive to Belize.
