Patrick Evans

Patrick came to know the Lord at a young age and was serving as a youth pastor by the time he was 19. After working for several years in law enforcement in Birmingham, Alabama, he began to increasingly sense that God was calling him into fulltime ministry. In 1994 he had the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip to Brazil. He was later able to return for a three-month period and spent much of his time ministering in the slums of Rio de Janeiro.

From 1996-1999 Patrick served as an MK (Missionary Kids) youth pastor in Nigeria. Ministering in this capacity allowed his passion for youth ministry and missions to converge. Jeff later joined Patrick in Nigeria. Spending a year back in the States, the two of them founded Dayspring Mission while preparing to go to Belize. It was during this time that they renovated a ’75 Ford school bus so that it could function as their future jungle home. Seven years in the Belizean bush offered invaluable experiences in incarnational ministry, after which Patrick returned to Nigeria with Jeff in 2007.

Patrick currently serves in the capacity of pastor and teacher, and as the discipleship coordinator for the Mission. He writes and oversees graphic design for Horse & Buggy Publications. He also usually ends up repairing whatever breaks down with limited access to tools and supplies.
